I have been quilting all along but recently have had some life changes and am looking forward to getting back to doing some creative things. Right now I am making a quilt for my granddaughter in her favorite colors, red, sky blue and violet. This has been quite a challenge since the blue and violet blend in to each other. Well, I found a novelty print in my stash that has a pink background and ALL her colors. I convinced her that we needed to use some darker values in the blue and violets. It will be square in a square, using various sized squares. It is good to get back to quilting. I recently moved and my sewing space is much smaller. I was overwhelmed with the boxes but yesterday I made myself some room, decided that I could ignore some unpacked boxes and work on them a few at a time and started Laila's quilt. I feel so much better now. Woo Hoo
*they are all just sewing room boxes any way.
As a passionate quilter, I have developed a love for creating unique One Block Wonder Quilts and some are featured in the book by Maxine Rosenthal, One Block Wonder Panel Quilts. My quilting journey has also led me to discover Millefiori quilts and Inklingo, which have ignited my passion for hand piecing. Professionally I enjoy making memory quilts from clothing and t-shirts to commemorate lives lived, careers, and special events. As a blogger, I am excited to share my experiences and insights.
