En Provance week 2

This is my first mystery quilt.  I've made tons of quilts but after being a Quiltville member for the last year I was sure that Bonnie's mystery would be fun and I would learn something new or find out that I've been doing something not exactly the right way.  That's what's happening! I'm trying the neutral rules that Bonnie follows, it will be interesting to see how they all play together.

I Love you this much

I was going to use this as a demo for my workshop in 2 weeks but I used a different fusible web (heat n bond)  and things went south on me. It is fine and didn't affect the wall hanging but not suitable for teaching. Sticking to wonder under or steam a seam in the future. I was just antsy and the only store open had heat n bond. Learned my lesson.

So to critique, I would have liked the center fabric in the stripe to be more vibrant, I may still add some color with markers. 

 I think this little guy looks like its wearing a muffler, Also, I thought the pink and white floers looked great sitting at the table but I will definitely be more aware of value changes in the future. 

I love the browns in the big rabbit. If you look closely you'll see pine cones, sea shells and chocolate candies in addition to flowers. 

Blue and White and Bonnie K Hunter scrappy quilts

I needed to make a wedding gift in blue and white. 

I remembered this from a Wedgeworks Class that I taught in 2001 or so. I just wanted to use the dresden blocks that were already made so alternated them with a double nine patch.

Oh look. I fits perfectly on top of my bed and looks very nice with my decor. Yep, I decided to keep it. I wanted to make some scrappy quilts from Bonnie Hunters free patterns and I had LOTS more blue and white fabrics so...

My daughter ended up giving this one as a wedding gift to her college roommate.

 This one went to my youngest daughter's best friend since 3rd grade.

I love this binding technique.

Yikes that border is way too busy

No, I am not taking it apart and putting in new fabric. I mixed up some Seta Color and painted it. 

I discovered this texas braid design while recouperating from a herniated disc (lots of couch/computer time) and had to make it.

Texas Braid on the back. Works perfectly.

Bonus! Pic of the the baby on the wedding quilt. Always nice to see them being used.

Quilt for the new townhouse

I was working on this while moving in and was a little distracted and "squared up" the blocks and cut off too much. I ended up remaking them all but didn't have all the fabrics that I loved so decided to just put them together hoping that it wouldn't be noticeable. Nope it is. Well this flimsy is in a drawer until I figure out what to do with it.

Too low and not big enough so I'll make some art quilts to add on.

This is how it all looks finished. I'm happy with it.
