Family crafting on the trip home from the celebration of 60 years of marriage for Ross and Nancy Fitzpatrick
Using my One Block Wonder technique of stacking repeats to speed up fussy cutting. Brilliant but why did it take me so long?
I had to rip out the 2nd round of diamonds on this rosette, they just didn't work. I am much happier with the darker green leaves
I decided that this was the fabric that I HAD to use for pentagons all around the whole top. I have been using this fabric on odds and ends for years and now I really needed more and couldn't find it anywhere. I do know that i must have purchased it 10 years ago. It's ok though, I made more. Thanks goodness it was a stripe!
Hooray, found the border fabric. They didn't have enough at the local quilt store but I was able to get more online.
almost done, counting how many pents are still needed. I was able to rip out the lining of a purse that I'd used the stripe in so didn't need to make any more fabric.
I sewed the border fabric to a piece roughly the size of the top, pinned and appliqued with a narrow zigzag stitch and invisafil thread.
Ready to quilt, just waiting for time and cooler weather, my sewing room is the hottest room in the house!
