Machine stitched binding with animas binding tool and faux piping

 Okay folks, I don't remember how to reorder the pictures so start from the bottom. I have been off sewing for 5 weeks now and have spent a ridiculous about of time on the computer. I have been interested in 2 'new to me' methods for binding. First the Animas binding tool and the second the process of adding a flange as faux piping which also creates a binding that can be fully machine stitched. Here's my first try. Hope this helps those of you who, like me hate hand sewing binding.

fold over to front and stitch in the ditch

trim and turn corner using binding tool to push corner in to shape

align binding tool with dots and center and mark a line to sew

fold quilt and mark the spot directly opposite in the folded edge

Using the the animas binding tool you need to mark a dot to finish an start exactly 1/4" from edge

Since I am using the Animas binding tool I have 4 separate pieces, if using the usual flip and fold method just use one continuous piece of binding

Step 2 set seam then press toward piping

Step One Cut Binding 1 1/2 inches and piping 1 3/4 inches press toward piping
